Nintendo Switch faults we fix every week
These are the jobs that cross our Charlestown bench day in, day out. Every price includes GST, parts and labour — and the related components get checked under the same fixed price.
Switch won't charge — USB-C port
Dead on the charger. Only charges at an angle. Flat every morning. The USB-C port cops thousands of insertions and side-load from angled cables until nothing gets through. We replace it at board level under the microscope and check the surrounding charge circuitry as part of the same job. Cheap third-party docks are a known Switch killer — if yours died in one, mention it when you book.

Joy-Con drift
Your character walks off on its own. The cursor creeps across menus. That's stick wear — and refitting the same stock part just restarts the countdown. We fit TMR magnetic tunnel sticks instead: no contact wear, immune to drift. Joy-Cons not clicking into the console or dropping connection when attached? That's the rail — $59 to repair.

Won't read game cards
"Unable to read game card" halfway through a session, or cartridges that need reseating five times before they register. The card reader wears out, collects dust and bends pins — it's one of the most common Switch failures we see. Replacement doesn't touch your downloaded games or saves.

Cracked or dead screen
Dropped on the driveway, sat on, or the picture died while the console still makes sound. We replace screens by model — digitiser and LCD faults both covered: $129 standard Switch, $199 Switch OLED, $119 Switch Lite.

Overheating or loud fan
Fan screaming, chassis hot to the touch, or the console shutting itself down in demanding games. Dust chokes the tiny heatsink and the fan bearing wears out. We sort the airflow and the fan under one fixed price.
$99 fixed
Battery & dead consoles
Runtime falling off a cliff, or a Switch that won't turn on at all. Battery replacement is $120. Completely dead — often after water damage or a dodgy dock — means board-level motherboard repair, from $149 with a fixed quote before we touch a thing.

Why won't my Nintendo Switch charge?
Usually a worn or damaged USB-C charge port. The port takes thousands of insertions plus side-load from angled cables, and cheap third-party docks are a known Switch killer. We replace the port at board level for $180 and check the surrounding charge circuitry under the same fixed price. If diagnosis finds something different, you get a fixed quote before any work starts.
Can Joy-Con drift be fixed permanently?
Yes. Refitting stock sticks means the same wear part fails again. Our TMR stick upgrade — $90 for one stick, $150 for both — uses magnetic tunnel sensors with no contact wear, so they're immune to drift. It's the last stick fix you'll ever need.
How much does a Nintendo Switch screen replacement cost in Australia?
$129 for the standard Switch, $199 for Switch OLED and $119 for Switch Lite. Every price includes GST, parts and labour, backed by a 3-month workmanship warranty.
My Switch won't read game cards — is that repairable?
Almost always. The game card reader is one of the most common Switch failures and we replace it for $120. If cards read intermittently or you keep getting "unable to read game card" errors, the reader is the usual suspect. Downloaded games aren't affected.
Will I lose my saves or game data during repair?
For most repairs, no — Switch saves live on internal storage and we don't touch it. For storage-related repairs we always check with you before doing anything that could affect data.
How does mail-in Nintendo Switch repair work?
Book online and we email a prepaid, insured AusPost label — nothing to pay upfront. We diagnose within 24 hours of arrival and email a fixed quote with photos. Approve it and we repair, test and Express Post the console back. Most jobs are done in 3-5 business days on the bench plus post. A flat $100 insured shipping both ways is added to your invoice only if you approve the repair.
More than one console in the house?
We repair Xbox — Series X, Series S and Xbox One — and PlayStation on the same bench. And with GTA 6 landing November 19, a dead PS5 or Xbox is worth fixing now, not in the launch-week queue. Get GTA 6 ready →
